What is the Enrolment Scheme?

The Enrolment Programme was introduced in Issue 6 of the BRC Global Standard for Food Safety to solve the chicken & egg dilemma relating to new manufacturers seeking to obtain Certification.  The Standard's requirement for a minimum of 3 months production records created a situation where you couldn’t gain certification before producing; but preventing producers from supplying without having that certification in place. It was a lose/lose situation.

The Enrolment Programme allows new producers to demonstrate their commitment and progress to the Standard formally and transparently to prospective customers before gaining certification.
